Get started with Summon

Summon is a blazingly fast launcher for macOS. It keeps you in the flow by letting you access everything with a single keyboard shortcut.

It's fast, flexible, and reliable - with 100% local processing.

Installation

Download the latest .dmg from our website and drag Summon to your Applications folder.

Download Summon

Download the latest version from the download page. The file is about 50MB.

Open the DMG

Double-click the downloaded .dmg file to mount it.

Install to Applications

Drag the Summon app to your Applications folder.

System Requirements

  • macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or later
  • Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) or Intel processor
  • ~50MB disk space

First Launch

When you first launch Summon, you'll need to grant several permissions:

Accessibility Access

Summon needs accessibility access to monitor keyboard shortcuts and expand snippets across all applications.

  1. Open System Settings
  2. Navigate to Privacy & Security → Accessibility
  3. Enable Summon

Screen Recording (Optional)

If you want to use clipboard history for images and screenshots, grant screen recording permission.

Default Shortcut

The default keyboard shortcut to open Summon is ⌘ + Space. You can customize this in Settings.
