Application Launcher

Launch any application on your Mac with just a few keystrokes. Summon's smart ranking learns from your usage patterns to surface the apps you need most.

How It Works

  1. Press ⌘ + Space to open Summon
  2. Start typing the name of any application
  3. Press Enter to launch

The more you use Summon, the smarter it gets. Frequently-used applications appear higher in the results.

Features

Fuzzy Matching

You don't need to type the exact name. Summon uses fuzzy matching to find what you're looking for:

  • Type "saf" to find Safari
  • Type "vsc" to find Visual Studio Code
  • Type "pho" to find Photos

Smart Ranking

Summon learns from your behavior:

  • Apps you launch frequently rank higher
  • Time-of-day patterns (e.g., Mail in the morning, Slack during work hours)
  • Context-aware suggestions based on recent activity

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Enter - Launch the selected app
  • ⌘ + Enter - Reveal app in Finder
  • ⌥ + Enter - Show app info
  • Arrow keys - Navigate results

  • "terminal" → iTerm
  • "notes" → Obsidian

Hidden Apps

By default, Summon searches all installed applications. You can hide specific apps from search results in Settings → Applications.
